Barrel Flash is a Minneapolis/St. Paul-based trio coming out of the folk traditions of the US, UK, and Ireland. Our goal is to combine our many distinct influences into an honest and vibrant sound of our own.
Folkrock songwriter Courtney Yasmineh has dedicated her life to a singular calling to be a performing songwriter. She performed her first original piece on guitar and voice at age ten at her big Lutheran church in Chicago. Touring in Europe and the US consistently for twenty years has informed Courtney’s lyricism and vocal styling. Her ninth full length album will release in May of 2024 and is a testament to her continued growth as a solo performer and songwriter.
Ponyfolk was founded in 2014 by Clifton Nesseth and Paul Sauey. Rooting their sound in a mutual appreciation of folk, rock, and orchestral music, the pair’s multi-instrumentalist abilities and vocal harmonies have carved them out a reputation of creating maximalist soundscapes that are defined by droning layers of guitars, strings, and synth textures – undergirding emotionally evocative lyrical imagery. They are often joined by Aaron Hayes (drums) and Alex Nelson (keyboards).
